Hii Tuang Sing

A 5-figure income in an economy downturn is possible, says former kampung boy

In these hard times where people are struggling to earn enough to put on the table, Hii Tuang Sing reflects on how he climbed his way out of the village into university and finally found a way to become the owner of a flourishing business.

According to Hii, he used to think that as an engineer with a professional career, he was much better off than his cousin who had a Form 2 education and lacked a steady income. But watching his cousin Alan become more confident, interact with others and especially when he started driving a Toyota Corolla, made him doubt himself.

In 1998, Hii joined his cousin in a local company called Elken which had begun operations several years before. There, he learned and understood the power of leveraging in network marketing by duplicating the efforts of successful people.

Today Hii believes that the most important criterion to become successful is to join the right company which promotes a sharing and caring culture and focuses not only on financial rewards, but puts equal emphasis on self-development. When you find such a company, work hard and persevere. Throughout the last decade, Hii has brought this message of hope to many people, helping to transform the health of hundreds, sharing knowledge and skills and building many successful entrepreneurs.

He encourages the young and old alike to possess the right mindset and learn new skills to cope with the rising prices. Tap on the knowledge of companies which are prepared to invest in systematic training programmes, provide support wherever you choose to start your business and pay well. Having just returned from a free trip to Kunming in China, Hii is confident that his recession-proof business will continue to yield a good income this year and in the years to come.
